Safety is and was never a issue with truck companies, just a cover to make them look good to the insurance companies! profits and miles is what runs a company not safety! That is why there are so many wrecks on the roads now days!Push, push, push!!! no one gives a fuck about the driver!

is anyone really listening. only congress has authority to make any changes in interstate commerce. that includes hrs of service. in late 80s the union drivers didn't like the fact independent drivers and company drivers started making more money with benefits. so they got congress to say they cud experiment with hrs of service and it's went to he'll in hand basket. hrs of service is to keep driver from driving more than 10and working more than 5 in a 24 hr midnight to midnight calender day. 5 hrs to load or unload. now there's people who unload. that leaves driver 14 hrs to rest . do not have to match fueling. Just have to subtract from allowed hrs. they are making drivers drive when tired ir sleepy. 70 hrs in 8 days. 14 hrs out of 24 to rest.
