Greg Grams, founder of Volo Museum, is selling over 20 rare C2 Corvettes from his personal collection.

Starting Wednesday, the Volo Museum’s auto sales department will be offering a unique opportunity for car enthusiasts and collectors alike: more than 20 rare Corvettes from the personal collection of the museum’s founder, Greg Grams. The sale will feature 25 iconic C2 Corvettes, spanning from 1963 to 1967, all meticulously selected and preserved by Grams himself.

Greg Grams, now in his 70s, has been deeply passionate about Corvettes for over five decades. His fascination with these American classics dates back to the early 1970s, when he first began selling Corvettes as used cars, often for just $3,000. Reflecting on those early days, Grams recalls the thrill of driving these powerful machines in the summer heat, often without the luxury of air conditioning. “Back then, you could buy one new for around $4,000, and air conditioning was a $500 add-on option, so only a handful of people spent that kind of money to upgrade to factory A/C, power steering, and windows,” he said.

Grams’ collection, which is being sold through the Volo Museum, represents some of the rarest and most coveted examples of the C2 Corvette era. His preference for air-conditioned coupes is evident in the collection, which includes a variety of models, from the legendary split-window coupes to convertibles. Each Corvette has been thoroughly inspected, decoded, and documented, ensuring that potential buyers are fully informed of the vehicle’s history, options, and specifications.

The value of the Corvettes in Grams’ collection ranges from $80,000 to $250,000, making this sale a significant event for collectors. These cars are not only rare but also highly desirable, reflecting the golden age of American automotive design and performance.

The collection will be available for viewing both at the Volo Museum and online at volocars.com. Jay Grams, Volo Museum’s Auto Sales Director and Greg’s son, will provide detailed videos and professional photographs of each Corvette, along with comprehensive write-ups detailing every spec, option, and accessory included with the vehicles.

When asked about the possibility of some Corvettes remaining unsold, Greg Grams responded with a lighthearted outlook. “I’m not too worried about that, but if they don’t, I get to enjoy them a little longer, and they will be worth even more the next time I put them up for sale,” he said.

This sale represents a rare chance to own a piece of Corvette history, with each car telling a story of the evolution of American sports cars during the 1960s. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or a passionate enthusiast, the opportunity to acquire one of these iconic vehicles from Greg Grams’ collection is not to be missed.
