The legendary 'Captain America' chopper from Easy Rider is up for auction.

A piece of Hollywood and motorcycle history is set to cross the auction block as part of the Lone Star Estate Collection. The 1952 Harley-Davidson ‘Captain America’ chopper, one of two used in the iconic 1969 film Easy Rider, will be offered without reserve by Worldwide Auctioneers.

This particular chopper, known as the "crash bike," holds a unique place in cinematic history. It was extensively featured in the climactic crash scene of Easy Rider, a film that became a cultural touchstone for the 1960s counterculture movement. After the famous crash, the motorcycle was comprehensively repaired and restored by actor Dan Haggerty, who played a role in the film’s production and later became its caretaker.

The 'Captain America' chopper is in excellent condition, retaining its original Panhead Harley engine, which produces 52 horsepower. The motorcycle’s authenticity is further verified by documentation, including signed affidavits from previous owners Dan Haggerty and Gary Graham, solidifying its status as a genuine piece of American pop culture and motorcycling heritage.
