Built by Jim Simpson, it offers a unique blend of vintage elegance and modern performance.

In a world where automotive enthusiasts are always on the lookout for something truly unique, the 2007 Mazda Miata Aston, built by renowned custom car designer Jim Simpson of Simpson Design, stands out as a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. This stunning vehicle, set to go under the hammer at Lucky Collector Car Auctions, is more than just a modified Miata—it's a bespoke creation that merges the charm of a classic roadster with the elegance of a modern sports car.

Based on a 2007 Mazda Miata platform, this extraordinary build saw all the original sheet metal removed, except for the door skins, and replaced with custom fiberglass bodywork that echoes the refined lines of an Aston Martin. The result is a car that turns heads not only for its rarity but also for its striking design. The interior of the Miata Aston is equally impressive, featuring custom seating with luxurious wood accents, creating an ambiance that blends vintage sophistication with contemporary comfort.

Jim Simpson, a highly respected figure in the custom car world, spent 12 months meticulously crafting this vehicle, ensuring every detail was perfect. The paintwork, described as amazing, remains in pristine condition with no chips or dings, save for a minor scratch where the top attaches at the rear—an area mostly concealed by the included hardtop. The car's exterior is complemented by MSW custom wire knock-off wheels, valued at $6,000, wrapped in new Kumho tires, and finished with a new Robbins cloth top.

The Miata Aston is more than just a showpiece; it’s a functional, well-maintained vehicle with less than 26,000 miles on the odometer. Although the fog lights add to the car’s aesthetic appeal, they are non-functional, a minor detail in an otherwise flawless build. The vehicle also features door handles sourced from a mid-60s Lancia Flavia, further enhancing its bespoke appeal.

With over $60,000 invested in this one-of-a-kind creation, it represents a unique opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts alike to own a piece of automotive art. The Aston Martin badging, added by the owner, can be easily removed if desired, allowing the new owner to tailor the car to their taste.
