It brings modern muscle to classic Mopar.

A stunning example of blending classic muscle with modern performance has emerged, as a supercharged, Viper V10-powered 1969 Plymouth GTX is currently up for auction on Bring a Trailer. This unique build not only retains the classic Mopar charm but also catapults it into the realm of modern supercars with its monstrous powertrain.

Originally, the 1969 GTX was equipped with a 440 cubic-inch, 7.2-liter V8 engine that produced 375 horsepower, or an optional 426 Hemi that delivered a whopping 425 horsepower. These engines were powerful enough to make the GTX one of the most formidable muscle cars of its era. However, the previous owner of this particular GTX decided to take things to an entirely new level, swapping out the original V8 for a Viper-sourced V10 engine. And as if that wasn't enough, they also added a supercharger and methanol injection to the mix, making this GTX a true beast on the road.

The build, which took place in 2010, didn’t stop at just the engine swap. The car also features a six-speed manual transmission from the Viper, ensuring that every ounce of power from the V10 is harnessed effectively. Inside, the GTX sports Viper bucket seats, adding to the car's modernized yet authentic feel. The stopping power is just as impressive, with Wilwood cross-drilled discs, six-piston calipers, and Michelin radials mounted on 18-inch wheels designed to resemble the original 15-inch Magnum 500 rims.

With its combination of vintage style and cutting-edge performance, this Plymouth GTX is sure to turn heads and drop jaws. Whether it’s the supercharged V10 roar or the iconic muscle car lines, this GTX pays homage to its 1960s roots while embracing the best of modern engineering.
