This 1961-inspired Corvette-powered roadster, with a meticulous restoration and custom features, is now available on Bring A Trailer.

A captivating blend of vintage aesthetics and modern engineering, this aluminum-bodied roadster is set to turn heads as it crosses the auction block on Bring A Trailer. Riding on a modified 1956 Corvette chassis, the roadster is powered by a 265ci Chevrolet V8 engine with dual four-barrel carburetors, ensuring both impressive performance and an authentic driving experience. Originally acquired from New Jersey in 2017, the roadster underwent a meticulous three-year restoration at Dog House Auto Restoration in Watsonville, California.

The car’s aluminum body, crafted circa 1961 by an unknown builder, draws inspiration from contemporary Lister race cars. The recent refurbishment included a dark blue repaint, red leather interior, and extensive modifications including a Martz independent front suspension, adjustable coilovers, and a fuel cell. The roadster features distinctive design elements such as a hood scoop, covered headlights, side exhaust outlets, and Halibrand-style wheels. The cockpit is adorned with a wood-rimmed steering wheel, an engine-turned instrument panel, and Smiths gauges. Awarded the Custom Coachwork award in 2023 at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, this roadster offers a rare opportunity to own a well-restored classic with significant provenance.

The Lister was aluminum, I almost bought one, a Lister vette. 9 moles on it and the engine was still in a crate. $2,000 in 1970.
