It will be very hot and for the first couple days of the work week; official heat advisories remain in effect through Tuesday. Highs today will be mostly in the mid 90′s, with peak afternoon heat index numbers about 105 to 110. A bit of a southwest breeze should help a bit, however. Clouds will begin to increase on Tuesday, with a slightly chance of strong thunderstorms by afternoon or evening, especially in northern counties as a slow-moving cold front approaches from the northwest. Storm chances increase Tuesday night and Wednesday.
