CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Good Monday Evening Heartland. We saw a very hot day across the Heartland. This evening will be very warm and humid with temperatures slowly falling through the 80s. Lows by morning will be in the middle and upper 70s. For your Tuesday we will be watching a dying line of storms early in the morning. There is a chance the northwestern counties could see a shower or two early otherwise most will be dry. As we heat up a few isolated afternoon thunderstorms could develop. It will be hot and humid again with highs reaching the lower to middle 90s and the heat index approaching 105 to 110 degrees. A heat advisory is in effect for the area tomorrow once again. A cold front will move through the area Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. This will bring a good chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area. A few storms could produce very heavy rain and gusty winds. The air mass behind this front will be much cooler with highs in the 80s to end the workweek.

Tomorrow will be another very hot and humid day before we start to see relief on Wednesday. A cold front arriving late tomorrow will bring a few strong thunderstorms, along with heavy downpours during tomorrow afternoon and evening. Activity will increase overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Scattered storms will continue Wednesday afternoon before we see the cooler drier air Thursday!
