More rain and thunderstorms today, drier end to the week
Good afternoon, Heartland, we are tracking some rain and thunderstorms today, but neither flooding or severe weather are expected. This will continue into the late afternoon and early evening, but we will start seeing drier conditions for the end of the day and into the next week, thanks to building high pressure over the region. Tomorrow begins a period of lower temperatures, and less humidity. Tomorrow, lows will be in the mid 60s and highs will bein the low 80s, with partly cloudy skies. These mild conditions will continue into the weekend, but the sunshine will increase both Friday and Saturday.

ILLINOIS, USA — Nearly 150 more high-risk zip codes have been added to the Illinois Department of Public Health's lead testing list. IDPH keeps track of zip codes throughout the state where residents are at a higher risk of lead exposure. On July 1, 148 new zip codes, representing 60 Illinois counties, were added to the list. That brings the total number of high risk zip codes up to almost 1,200.
