Moundsville, W.Va. (WTRF) – Attention to all the young golfers out there, the 18th annual Honeywell Junior Golf Invitational is almost here.

Thanks to a donation from Honeywell, the Moundsville Country Club will be hosting the tournament on Monday, July 29th.

It’s a shotgun style tournament, open to boys and girls ages 10 through 18, with multiple flights to separate the ages.

Officials with the country club like to host this each year a few weeks before school starts to give our young area golfers a chance to warm up at a good venue, and hopefully, instill some good life lessons.

“The benefits as far as the game of golf, one, it teaches integrity, honesty and sportsmanship. Golf is one of the few games that a person who kind of breaks the rules a little bit, often calls them on themselves….I just want to thank Honeywell. With their generous donation every year, we’re able to close down the golf course, give it to the kids basically for the whole day, and we appreciate their support.”

You can find the sign up form on the Moundsville Country Club Facebook page , and you can call them at 304-845-2153.
