Dual Team Tennis Roundup: Bears return to Regional Semifinal, Cards reach Elite Eight

Three local tennis teams qualified for the NCHSAA Dual Team Tournament: East Surry, Mount Airy and Surry Central.

Surry Central (10-6) earned the No. 16 seed in the 2A West and fell in the opening round. East Surry (14-5) earned the No. 6 seed in the 2A West and made it all the way to the Sweet 16.

Mount Airy, the No. 10 seed in the 1A West, is still competing and will take on No. 3 N.C. School of Science and Math—Morganton (15-0) on May 15. Mount Airy holds a 14-4 record entering the regional semifinal.

The winner of Mount Airy and NCSSM will advance to the 1A West Regional Championship to take on defending 1A State Champion Elkin (17-1).
