Eric Wayne Sabin, 33, listed as a homeless Mount Airy resident, was found to be wanted on an outstanding arrest order for possession of heroin, a felony, which had been issued through the Dobson Police Department on Feb. 15.

Sabin also was wanted on five counts of second-degree trespassing and a larceny charge filed through the Surry County Sheriff’s Office on March 11 and a charge of possessing a Schedule I controlled substance from that agency dating to Sept. 19.

He is scheduled to be in Surry District Court on June 25.

    • Kenneth William Carter, 65, of 612 Worth St., is facing a driving while impaired charge stemming from a traffic crash last Saturday on U.S. 52 near Greenhill Road.

Testing revealed Carter, who was operating a 2001 Ford Focus, to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.14%, nearly double the legal limit for getting behind the wheel.

He also was found to be the subject of an outstanding order for arrest for failing to appear in court which had been filed in June 2023.

Carter was held in the Surry County Jail under a $500 secured bond and slated for a June 24 District Court appearance.

    • A North Carolina dealer’s license tag valued at $60 was discovered stolen on June 3 at Buster’s Used Cars in the 300 block of East Pine Street.
