    • More than $500 in money and property has been stolen from a vehicle at Starlite Skate Center, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports.

    The crime occurred on June 29 at the Fowler Road business, where a 2016-model car of unspecified make owned by Debra Lynn Payne of Lambsburg, Virginia, was broken into during the afternoon hours.

    Taken was $200 in cash along with miscellaneous credit and gift cards, a $200 Coach purse, miscellaneous makeup items, a baton, a driver’s license, a fingerprint card and keys.

    • The 2007 Hyundai Elantra of Kathryn Amanda Kinder was discovered broken into on July 1 at her home in the 300 block of West Church St.

    Nothing was listed as missing.

    • Nicholas Cody Hull, 33, a homeless Mount Airy resident, was jailed under a $10,000 secured bond on June 27 for charges stemming from a check-forgery case that victimized Carter Bank and Trust.

    Police were told on June 6 that a known suspect had obtained an undisclosed sum of money by depositing forged checks at the bank on Willow Street.

    Hull was arrested at a Rockford Street location on five felonies: three counts of uttering a forged instrument and two counts of obtaining property by false pretense.

    He was scheduled to appear in Surry District Court Monday.

    • Dollar General on North Renfro Street was the scene of a theft on June 27, when Benadryl over-the-counter allergy medication valued at $10 was taken by an unknown suspect.

    • Police learned on June 26 that a $1,500 scooter had been stolen earlier in the month from the Roses store on West Independence Boulevard.

    West Pine Street resident Timothy Hobert Golding is the owner of the 2021 Jiajue 49cc model, which is red and was bearing tag number MA5929A.
