Project Timberlake: Yard of the Month

The Project Timberlake Community Organization in Mount Airy recently announced the winner of the Yard of the Month for the month of July - Minister Emagine Carter of 278 Gaylon Street.

The group is again recognizing those who are making an effort to improve the overall quality of life in the neighborhood. Having a yard contest is an attempt to build engagement and pride among residents of the area the group said.

The organization has sponsored the Yard of the Month contest with judging assistance from The Mount Airy News since 2022.

Those residents who participate are judged by appearance and overall curb appeal with preference shown to those homes which have not won the award in previous years.

Winners of the Yard of the Month contest win a three-month subscription to The Mount Airy News provided by the Project Timberlake Community Organization.

The group is made up of neighbors and friends in the Timberlake community off Northeast Pine Street in Mount Airy.

The Project Timberlake Community organization meets every last Tuesday of the month. Board of directors and members are urged to attend. Meetings are held at the Olympia Restaurant, 602 Linville Road, Mount Airy, at 6 p.m.
