The Blackmon Amphitheatre will come to life again Friday evening as Main Event Band takes the stage as part of the Surry Arts Council’s Summer Concert Series.

SAC said the show will have something for all musical tastes and described the group as, “The ultimate party band performing R&B, Soul, Beach, Country, and Funk. Their performances also include music styles from the 80s and 90s as well as your favorite songs of today. From Beach to Classic rock, from Soul to Country, from Disco to Buffett.”

Single tickets for the show are $17 or SAC is offering an Annual Pass that will grant entry to all the 2024 Summer Series shows at Blackmon Amphitheatre. The Annual Pass can be purchased through a link on their website https://www.surryarts.org/shows/amphitheatre.html.

“The Annual Pass provides a whole year of entertainment with numerous shows available each month. You’ll enjoy live beach music, old-time and bluegrass music, WPAQ Merry-Go-Round, and more. There is something for everyone,” SAC wrote online adding that “passes make great gifts.”

The Summer Series has been delivering a variety of music for residents to enjoy at Blackmon and when all is said in done will have featured a total of 58 concerts during its run starting back in May through the last week of September and Mayberry Days.

While the days are already getting shorter, somehow there are only fifty-eight days to the first day of Fall, the Summer Series still has over twenty performances left with many returning fan favorite acts.

Coming in August are The Entertainers, Cat5 Band, The Embers featuring Craig Woolard, Envision, Cassette Rewind. Band of Oz, The Extraordinaires, The Connection, The Catalinas, Castaways Band, Jim Quick & Coastline, The Magnificents Band, and the overstuffed lineup rounds out the month with Phatt City.

In September SAC will welcome The Holiday Band, The Rick Strickland Band, Too Much Sylvia, Kids in America: Totally 80’s Tribute, and repeat visits from The Entertainers, The Embers, and Envision. Also, note a special earlier 7 p.m. start time concert from The Elkin Big Band.
