Post 25 Seniors use ‘small ball’ to edge past Owensboro, 2-1
PRINCETON — An old adage in athletics (and in life) is that ‘there’s more than one way to bake a cake’ when it comes to finding a way to success. For the Princeton Post 25 Senior American Legion Baseball team, that adage rang true on Thursday night. Just five days removed from defeating Owensboro, Kentucky, in 11-1 run-rule fashion in the Quarterfinals of the 2024 John E. Hayes Best of the Midwest Invitational in Terre Haute, Princeton had to fight tooth-and-nail to earn a hard-fought 2-1 victory at historic and legendary Gil Hodges Field.

Upon recommendation of the Building and Grounds committee, they voted to spending $148,000 in American Relief Plan Act (ARPA)funds to purchase and install a power generator and upgrade the electric service at the courthouse. The Oldest Public Cemetery in Indiana is Older Than the State Itself
This cemetery is over 230 years old, older than the Hoosier State!. Over the past few months, I've been on a journey to highlight some of the oldest places around Indiana. A few places highlighted previously have some seriously interesting history, like Indiana's oldest store which was founded the same year Abraham Lincoln was elected President, and it's STILL open to this day! We also recently learned about the oldest high school in the state, and the oldest continually open high school (which happens to be right here in Evansville). And of course, we can't forget Indiana's oldest city, which is even older than the United States of America.

According to the incident report, Roosevelt was on the job at the Grayville City Pool. He says he saw the child go down the slide and swim away slowly. He says while checking on him asking if he was ok, the youth confirmed he was but immediately went under prompting Roosevelt to jump in and swim the boy to safety. Roosevelt said he could hear the boy coughing up water, but was unable to get it all out.
