GSH Stroke Screenings Set for August 7th
Good Samaritan Hospital will offer free stroke screenings on Wednesday, August seventh. The screenings will be held at the Hedde Education Center on South Seventh Street. During the screenings, various information booths will be set up for further stroke education. Also during the event, the Knox County Health Department will offer body-mass index and blood sugar testing for those attending.

LAWRENCE COUNTY ARRESTS
The Lawrence County Sheriffs Department (LCSD) made two weekend arrests. Saturday, 66 year old Elzie Aldridge of Lawrenceville was charged with Aggravated Assault and Unlawful Use of Weapons. No other arrest details were given in the report. Aldridge was booked into the Lawrence County Jail and was being held there pending a detention hearing. Sunday, the LCSD charged 39 year old John McDaniel of Lawrenceville with Domestic Battery. He was also booked into the Lawrence County Jail and was being held there pending a detention hearing.

She and other young women took up welding at the shipyard in Evansville as “Rosie the Riveters” during World War II. She also worked at Emge Meat Packing in Fort Branch for 33 years. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Owensville where she taught Sunday School for over 40 years.
