DECKER — The old Decker school building was still smoldering Wednesday from a 7:45 p.m. Tuesday fire that drew response from nine area fire departments. No matter how much they do for animals and the shelter, the Pike County Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) is always in need of donations. Whether that be dog food, cat food, office supplies, cleaning supplies, toys for the animals, funds to cover non-stop veterinary bills, and more, their hearts are big at the shelter, but their budget from the county to cover costs, is minimal.
Good Samaritan announces new chief nursing officer
VINCENNES — Brenda Winkler was named Thursday as the chief nursing officer of Good Samaritan Hospital. Winkler was most recently the director of Perioperative Services and served as the interim CNO from May 2 to June 19.
