(OLNEY/NEWTON) With anywhere from an inch up to two or three inches of rain in our downstate area over the past 48 hours, our sky will dry up today with plenty of sunshine returning to the forecast, and at least lower humidity levels and a strong northwesterly wind. While there is a slight chance of an afternoon shower in tomorrow’s forecast, Thursday will be mostly dry with some sunshine. Then a gradual warmup runs Friday through Sunday with dry conditions expected even into the first of next week. OWENSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - At Maumee Cemetery in Owensville, there was a lot of damaged headstones and trees ripped up from their roots from the storms. Eugene Kelsey, 86, of Bone Gap
Eugene Kelsey, 86, of Bone Gap, Illinois passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at his residence in Bone Gap, Illinois. Eugene was born January 23, 1938 to Raymond and Edna (Gumbrell) Kelsey. He married his wife Lulu in April of 1957 and they enjoyed many happy years together until her passing in 2019.
Pike Central Boys Basketball Coach Hunter Elliott Resigns to Take on Administrative Role
Pike Central will be searching for a new boys basketball coach. Hunter Elliott turned in his letter of resignation yesterday after leading the team for the past few seasons. Elliott expressed his sincere gratitude to the school board, his staff, and the players for an amazing experience. He will be moving to an administrative position and plans to stay with the youth program to continue to build a strong Pike Central boys basketball program.
Jessica Baker-Hope, 36, Vincennes
Jessica L. Baker-Hope, age 36, a lifelong resident of Vincennes, IN, passed away on July 7, 2024. Born on December 16, 1987, to Douglas and Pansy “Coy” Baker, Jessica grew up in the warm embrace of her hometown, alongside her loving siblings, Peggy Baker and Douglas Baker Jr. After attending high school, she committed herself to supporting her family through her diligent work in factory settings, contributing not only to her family’s well-being, but also to the fabric of her community.
ISP Arrest One After Evening Accident
Indiana State Police arrested a Vincennes woman following a call to a location near 15th and Main Streets. Troopers found 28 year-old Cara Kendall at the location. Kendall was charged with two counts– leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and operating while intoxicated. No details of the accident have been released.
