70-year-old woman arrested after crashing car into liquor store, deputies say
GIBSON CO., Ind. (WFIE) - A woman from Oakland City was arrested Sunday after deputies say she drove an SUV into a liquor store on the south side of town. That’s according to Gibson County Sheriff Bruce Vanoven, who tells us deputies were called to the Oak 2 Barrel Liquor on Mulberry Street for that accident.
Vincennes School Board approves several hires
The Vincennes Community School Board approved several personnel matters on Monday. The regular monthly meeting was the last one before school starts next month. At the meeting the board voted unanimously in favor of hiring Amy Theriac as a 3rd grade teacher at Tecumseh-Harrison Elementary. She would be moving to Vincennes from a teaching teaching position in Illinois.

Grayville City Council July 8th Meeting Recap
Grayville leaders met swiftly Monday night, taking only 14 minutes to breeze through business. With no executive session, council was able to speed through formalities including ordinances, one creating the office of a City Administrator position, another approving the sale of 122 S Court Street for $52,500. Council also approved TIF agreements with Mark Smith for properties at 211 and 213 East North Street and the Grayville School District.

(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : accepted the bid to demolish the property at 614 North Walnut Street : accepted the quote to replace the lights on Ball Diamond #9 in Musgrove Park : approved an ordinance to close a portion of the north/south alley between East Butler & East Laurel Streets and between North Sycamore & North Mill Streets : agreed to authorize Tax Abatement within the City’s Enterprise Zone to include tax incentives : agreed to seek bids for the City’s Main Street Storm Sewer Drainage Project : agreed to begin the City Council’s next regular meeting on Monday, July 22nd, at 4:30 that afternoon instead of the normal time : noted the City continues to search for grant monies to improve a pair of city parking lots : also noted that interviews are scheduled to eventually fill two vacant employee positions within the City’s Street Department : and after a closed session to discuss real property and personnel, agreed to proceed with the possible purchase of property within the city : the Olney City Council’s next meeting will be July 22nd, at 4:30pm.
Public Meeting on Electric Vehicle Charging in Vincennes
Vincennes, IN – INDOT will host a public meeting on electric vehicle charging on July 16th at 11:30 a.m. at the Green Activities Center on the Vincennes University campus. This meeting is part of INDOT’s federally funded program to expand Indiana’s electric vehicle charging network. The program wants to deploy a national network of at least 500,000 charging stations by 2030. A presentation will begin 30 minutes after the doors open.
