One more day of 90°+ weather before storms bring relief
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va (WDTV) - Temperatures have been climbing above 90° for the past few days, with Monday’s highs inching to just shy of record-breaking in some areas. Tuesday will be similarly hot, but will be the last day in the 90s for a little while. A cold front will be approaching the area from the NW, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and eventually, cooler air. The storms will arrive in the afternoon and continue into the evening, and have the potential to become severe in isolated cases. Strong, damaging wind gusts are possible anywhere in NCWV within thunderstorms. Heavy rain could pose a localized flash flooding risk, though that risk will stay low since we have been very dry.
