Movin’ On Up: New Detroit Pistons Coach Selling His Beautiful Lakefront Pad for $5M
J. B. Bickerstaff is movin' on up (technically, north and west) as he packs his bags in Cleveland and heads for the Motor City to become the new coach of the Detroit Pistons. Since Bickerstaff was fired by the Cavaliers earlier this year, it doesn't look like he'll be needing that rickety old shack gorgeous lakefront mansion he's been living in. His six-bedroom home in Avon Lake (about 25 miles west of Cleveland) has been listed for just a shade under $5 million.

Terrance James grew up playing primarily wide receiver but has excelled as a running back and slot back. Two months ago, he received his first Division I college offer to play cornerback from Miami (Ohio). So, naturally, that means he'll start at quarterback for North Farmington this fall. Wait, wait?

Yzerman still has work to do if the Red Wings hope to take a step forward in 2024-25
If the Detroit Red Wings hope to take the next step in what seems like a never-ending rebuild, Steve Yzerman needs to upgrade the backend. As I've mentioned recently, it's been a very peculiar off-season thus far for Yzerman and the Red Wings. Detroit has accomplished some positive things, such as re-signing star forward Patrick Kane to a one-year deal. It was reported that Kane sought a three-year deal on the open market so he and his young family would have some security through the final stretch of his career. Last season, Kane proved that he could remain healthy for the duration of a rigorous NHL season following the complex hip resurfacing surgery last summer.

On a surface level, Jack Campbell had a solid rookie season in 2023 (95 total tackles, five tackles for loss) as he navigated the ups and downs typical of a rookie. He was even used as a SAM linebacker early in the season in a sheer effort to get him on the field.

Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares is on a tear this week after first-half earnings were released. First, he threatens to give underperforming brands the boot. In case you lost count, the auto conglomerate has 14 brands in its portfolio so there’s bound to be some overlap. But not even big profit margin nameplates are safe. Next in Tavares’ line of fire is Ram. What it do? Build crappy trucks.
