MOUNT GAY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man files a missing person complaint on his wife and four kids; however, it was learned the woman left the day prior because of abuse at a pool.

On the morning of Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at around 6 am, Deputy J.L. Isaacs and Deputy H. Workman from the Logan County Sheriff’s Department responded to a missing person complaint on Fisher Lane in Mount Gay .

Upon arrival, they spoke with Timothy Marcum, who reported that his fiancée and four kids had left the previous evening at around 9 pm and hadn’t returned.

According to Mr. Marcum, they had an argument while swimming in the pool, after which his fiancée and kids left. The officers searched the area and found the missing individuals at a neighbor’s house.  The fiancée claimed he had gotten mad and shoved her in the arm with his fist and then got angry at two of the kids because they had gotten back in the pool, at which time Mr. Marcum got in the pool and started slinging them around in the pool. The victim advised that is when they left in fear for their safety.

As a result, Child Protective Services were notified, and Mr. Marcum was arrested and taken to the Logan County Sheriff’s Department for processing. He was then transported to the Southwestern Regional Jail to await arraignment. This incident took place in Logan County , West Virginia.

Marcum faces charges of child abuse, domestic battery, and domestic assault.
