Top readers win bicycles in Summer Reading program
INEZ — The Martin County Public Library has announced the winners of its Summer Reading program: Madison Sullivan, Drake Evans, Alison Lindsay and Levi Lindsay. The top readers in each age group received bicycles donated by Tommy’s Auto Sales of Inez. For younger children, the winners were chosen based on the number of books read, while for older children, the winners were determined by the number of pages read.
WPD to conduct traffic safety checkpoint
The Williamson Police Department will be conducting a sobriety/safety checkpoint beginning this Saturday, July 6, at 8 p.m. This checkpoint will be in effect until 4 a.m. Sunday, July 7. Officers will be watching for impaired drivers as well as those committing other traffic violations. The checkpoint will be located on U.S. 52 between Harvey Street and Second Avenue.
