Altercation leads to deadly shooting
LENORE — A deadly shooting occurred on July 5 in Lenore. According to a press release by the West Virginia State Police earlier in the day, Trooper J. C. Morrison responded to a shooting at a residence between Lenore and Naugatuck along Rt. 65. The victim identified as 42-year-old Charles Speer of Kermit traveled to the residence of 50-year-old David Hodge of Lenore. A physical altercation occurred, during which Speer was shot multiple times. Speer was transported to Williamson ARH where he was pronounced dead. Speer is being sent to Frankfort, Kentucky for an autopsy.
