Tug, Mingo play in ‘King of the Queen’ Seven on Seven
The Tug Valley and Mingo Central football teams competed in the “King of the Queen” Seven on Seven football event at Man High School's George A. Queen Memorial Field on Thursday, June 6. Also taking part in the summer event were Man, Scott, Chapmanville, Westside, Mount View and Wahama. Mingo Central has three quarterbacks vying for the starting job in Brennon Harrison, Caden Porter and Tug Valley transfer Jaxon Nenni-Mills. Tug Valley starting QB Preston May, a sophomore, is back for the Panthers. Both MCHS and Tug made it to the playoffs last year.

Minnie Caroline Adkins Ramey
MINNIE CAROLINE ADKINS RAMEY, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 1, 2024, at her home in Branchland, WV. She was born on October 1, 1931, in Cabell County, WV, the daughter of the late Goba and Cassie Lucas Adkins. She graduated as valedictorian of Chapmanville High School's class of 1950. She met and married Cleston Ramey while she was still in high school, and they were together for 61 years.
