Arrest Made Following Shooting During Youth Baseball Game At Wingate University
Police say they arrested Weston Vonegidy on July 2nd for the shooting that happened during a youth baseball game on the campus of Wingate University. Vonegidy has been charged with having a gun on an educational property, assault by pointing a gun, going armed to the terror of people, felony possession of a schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture/sell/distribute a schedule I controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling for the sale of controlled substances.

Davidson County man charged after injured woman found living with over 40 feral wolf-hybrid dogs
In June of 2024, Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office began an Animal Cruelty Investigation and a Domestic Elderly Abuse and Neglect case in the Denton area. During the investigation, it was determined through observations, interviews and medical evaluations that an elderly female was living inside a residence with over 40 Wolf-Hybrid dogs and sustained injuries that led to a welfare check being conducted at the residence where the female resided.
