The Table Cafe coming to Mt. Hope

MT. HOPE, WV (WVNS) — The folks of Mt. Hope are looking forward to a new restaurant opening in town Saturday, July 6th, 2024.

The Table Cafe on Main Street has been a labor of love for Mike and Jennifer Kessinger since 2019.

Unfortunately, COVID put a halt on their plans to open the restaurant until just over a year ago.

Taking the time to do all of the demolition and construction themselves, The Table is finally ready for their grand opening on Saturday, July 6th.

As a business owner, and the mayor of Mt. Hope, Mike Kessinger said that this restaurant is everything he wanted it to be.

“We want it to be a representation of Mt. Hope. We want to continue that, you know, the experience,” said Kessinger. “And as folks come and experience Mt. Hope, we want them to have a place to come and have lunch or have a meal.”

Kessinger said The Table will offer a regular deli menu during the week as well as a full coffee bar.

The meat of the restaurant will appear on Fridays and Saturdays, however, when Kessinger fires up his smoker to serve up his take on his beloved Texas barbeque.

Kessinger feels that having a good meal is the key to bringing the community together.

“That’s what we want. We want a real homey, welcoming environment where…where everyone’s welcome. That’s our theme, you know, everyone’s welcome, so we wanna embrace everybody and bring folks in and provide a place and an opportunity to come and to fellowship and to gather and to have a nice meal.” explained Kessinger.

Good food and warm fellowship are the hallmarks of this new restaurant, and Kessinger hopes that everyone will stop on in for both.

The Table is located at 707 Main Street in Mt. Hope.

Their regular hours will be Tuesday through Thursday from 7 A.M. until 6 P.M. and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 A.M. until 8 P.M.
