Michael J. Shroyer, 83, of McGaheysville, Virginia, passed away at 1 :18 a.m., on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at his home. He is survived by his wife, of 61 years, Rose Mary Clay Shroyer. Also surviving are two daughters, Suzanne M. Schiefer, and Pamela K. Shroyer; three grandchildren, Jeb Schiefer (Catherine), Case Schiefer (Kelsey), and Claire Schiefer Evans (Dustin), as well as a great-granddaughter, Alice Schiefer.
Dayton Prepares For Next Phase Of Nature Trail
Town staff and residents from Dayton are looking forward to completing the next phase of a project that has been years in the making. Residents of the Silver Lake area were pleased to learn a key piece of a planned nature trail was finally secured at last week’s Harrisonburg City Council meeting. The city agreed to grant the town of Dayton an easement for land around Silver Lake to complete a nature trail that would encircle the lake. The easement was the final parcel of land the town needed to secure for the project.
