An animal rescue out of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee has the most adorable little addition to their shelter in the form of an orange kitten with a very special genetic mutation which resulted in him having four ears!

They named the little kitten 'Audio' and he is just as cute as can be.

True Rescue posted on Facebook the very pun-ny story, "EXTREMELY RARE so lend me your ears (snicker)! This kitten came into our shelter today with his 3 other siblings, and he has a rare genetic mutation having been born with FOUR EARS! You "heard" me right (snort)! The last kitten we were able to find research about that had 4 ears came from Turkey and was from 2 years ago. We will have him fully checked by a vet, but from what we know, the inner ear is completely normal and will cause no issues, other than having extra flaps to clean! We have named him Audio, and he is 8-9 weeks old, weighing just over 2 pounds. We'll videotape him soon and share his cuteness with everyone because this baby is simply ear-resistible (sorry, can't stop)! Welcome to True Rescue, Audio, where love has no boundaries!"

Local news outlet WKRN reported on the kitten and interviewed Kristin Condite, the director of operations for True Rescue, who said, "Whenever we took him out of his carrier, my counterpart said, ‘What’s on his ear?’ And when we looked closer, it appears as if Audio has actually four ears on his head, so he has two right facing and two rear facing. It’s extremely abnormal.”

Audio isn't available for adoption at present, but if you'd like to see all of the other animals that True Rescue has available and looking for a forever home, you can visit their website here .

How To Help Shelter Cats During Kitten Season

Here's how you can help your local animal shelter or humane society during kitten season.

    Make a monetary donation.

Shelters can always use donations, to be used towards buying much needed supplies for cats, dogs, puppies and kittens.

Check your local shelter website to see if they have a wishlist.

Kittens who are orphaned or have been separated from their mother may require kitten formula to meet their nutritional needs. Your local shelter can probably tell you which brand they prefer. Shelters also need things like feeding bottles, wet and dry kitten food, litter boxes and litter, soft blankets, towels, heating pads or heat lamps, medical supplies, cat carriers and toys. Check with your local shelter to see what they need most.

    Volunteer to bottle feed kittens.

Consider becoming a foster parent for kittens in need. Fostering helps alleviate overcrowding in shelters and provides kittens with individualized care and socialization in a home environment. Kittens that need to be bottle-fed usually require feedings every 2-3 hours but your shelter can provide you with instructions.

Foster a mama cat and her babies.

If you have a quiet room with a door you can help your shelter free up space by fostering a mama cat and her babies. Like in the post above, most shelters will provide all the supplies you need.

    Make it a neighborhood effort.

Host a bake sale or car wash with your neighbors or social group to raise funds for your local shelter. Get your classmates, sports team, drinking buddies or church involved.
