Kick Off National Farmers Market Week with Special "Family Day" at Rancocas Woods on Sunday

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — The Rancocas Woods Farmers Market is kicking off National Farmers Market Week with a special "Family Day" themed event on Sunday that is sure to have something for all age groups.

National Farmers Market Week, now in its 25th year, is an annual celebration that highlights the vital role farmers markets play in our nation's food system. Taking place this year from August 4 through August 10, the week features fun events, programs, contests and activities to help boost market attendance and visibility and showcases the value markets bring to their communities, says the Farmers Market Coalition .

In addition to the great lineup of farms, vendors and local organization featured at the weekly Rancocas Woods Farmers Market, the August 4 market includes fun for the whole family including a documentary screening from the Northeast Organic Farming Association of New Jersey for the adults and several activities for the kids, including live musical entertainment by Big Idea Committee, story time and karate board-breaking with Coach Peter Liciaga, face painting with Constantly Crafting Kay, plus a visit from the Rancocas Chicken for photos and hugs!

Beat the heat with a splash zone, which will be set up outside Thyme Travelers Conservatory.

The Rancocas Woods Farmers Market is located at 118 Creek Road in Mount Laurel.
