Emergency shelter opens for those affected by flooding in Winnebago Co.
WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) - The American Red Cross is stepping in to help people affected by flooding in Winnebago County. A 24-hour emergency shelter is now available at Forest City Church, 1208 S. Alpine Road in Rockford. Meals and water are available at the shelter for those displaced by the storms. The Northwest Illinois Chapter of the Red Cross says it is also looking for volunteers and accepting donations.
