SMITHERS, WV (WOAY)- Ronald Senters from Smithers is still dealing with the after-effects of the early April storms. His home had major water damage to the ceilings. However, the process of getting federal aid that was authorized included a hurdle that not everyone deals with: Senters is deaf and cannot communicate with FEMA over the phone.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Kanawha County man is accused of sexually abusing a minor for several years, court records said. Garrett Dale Deems Jr., 55, of Procious is charged with sexual abuse of a child dating back to at least 2019, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
