The Third Squad reports the arrest of a New Jersey man for a Grand Larceny that occurred on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. in North New Hyde Park. According to Detectives, a female victim, 74, stated she was approached at her residence located on North 4th Street by an unknown male advising the victim that her roof needed repairs. The subject represented himself as a roof contractor and instructed the victim on multiple occasions to withdraw money from her bank account.

In exchange for the property, DEVCO negotiated with the project’s major partner, RWJBarnabasHealth, to commit $55 million to build a new school at nearby 50 Jersey Avenue on land donated by the chair of the RWJ University Hospital board and developer Jack Morris.

Edison: Podcasting Spoken Word Listening Surges, But AM/FM Still Rules.
Is podcasting the new talk radio? The short from Edison Research’s latest Share of Ear Data could be both yes — and not yet, depending on the individual. Edison says podcasting has a 36% share of spoken word audio listening time with people 13 and older. That’s up from 13% in 2017. But AM/FM radio continues to account for the largest share. Edison says 43% of spoken word audio listening goes to broadcast radio.

Metuchen Colonial Cemetery To Receive $250K from State Budget for Preservation
EDISON, NJ - The Colonial Cemetery in Metuchen will receive $250,000 for preservation from the state budget, according to Mayor Jonathan Busch. The Metuchen-Edison Historical Society says the cemetery dates back to 1715 and contains at least 66 graves for revolutionary soldiers and patriots. The cemetery is located on Main Street next to the Metuchen Train Station. The property is approximately one acre of land with over 500 graves and is associated with the Presbyterian Church, according to the historical society.
