Swiss chocolate & Guatemalan chicken at the mall
Finally some good news to report at Westfield Montgomery mall: Swiss chocolatier Läderach and Guatemalan chicken chain Pollo Campero made their respective debuts this week. Läderach has taken over the second-floor space that once belonged to Godiva, turning it into a wonderland of chocolate truffles, chocolate pralines, heart-shaped chocolates, alcohol-infused chocolates, and the company’s signature “FrischSchoggi” chocolate bark. There’s also a bar where you can purchase rotating flavors of chocolate by the piece or by the slab — and the staff is not shy with the samples. This is the first Maryland location for Läderach, which has a flagship store on New York’s Fifth Avenue and is quickly expanding throughout the U.S. If you’re looking for something heartier, Pollo Campero is now open in the Dining Terrace serving up chicken, salads, empanadas, tortillas, beans, rice, and fries made from potato or yuca.
