Jefferson County Road 26 closure starts Sept. 4 for major water line installation
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — Starting Sept. 4, County Road 26 - also known as Coal Hill Road - will be closing as the Steubenville Water Department will be doing work. "It is part of the west end water improvement project,” water Superintendent Jim Jenkins said. “We are installing a new 12-inch line that runs up Coal Hill that will connect to the west end system and our downtown system. It is roughly 3,000 feet that we have to finish going up Coal Hill.”

The heatwave persevering over parts of Columbus, Cincinnati, Wilmington, and beyond shows little sign of letting up before the weekend, the National Weather Service (NWS) suggests. With temperatures climbing and a weak front stalling, residents are enduring another day of scorching weather, with heat indices around 100 degrees expected near and south of the Ohio River.
