MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD)- Multiple crews responded to a marine fire early Wednesday morning near the USS Yorktown in Mount Pleasant.

Crews responded to the scene shortly before 5:30 a.m. and discovered a floating dock with a wooden deck was burning between the ship and the pier, according to Mount Pleasant Fire Department (MPFD) officials.

The fire was quickly extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Officials said the floating dock, which had a small lift for crews to work from, is used to pressure wash and paint the USS Yorktown. No workers were on the dock at the time.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.

The North Charleston Fire Department was also on scene to assist.
