    Body

On Tuesday, September 3, the Mount Pleasant city council and Mayor Tracy Craig convened for a regular session and approved ordinance 2024-17.

The ordinance declared an unopposed candidate, unnamed during the meeting, to be sworn in after the November 5th election.

During the meeting, City Secretary Candias Webster explained, “This is an ordinance we have to have passed before they start going to the polls. There was only one person who signed up, so she’s elected, and then she will go on the ballot as an unopposed candidate. Then she will be sworn in after the November 5th election.”

Other approved items on the agenda are as follows: • Pay request #4 for Schneider Electric to work on Meter Replacement project

    • Task order with KSA engineers for work on FM 4000 sewer improvements
