      “It was an amazing and exciting tournament,” Lydia said. “All three of us feel like this tournament helped us as we prepare to represent UTA team USA on July 14th in Bromsgrove England at the British Championships.”

    A Mount Pleasant family took top spots in the 2024 United Taekwondo Alliance Grand Nationals on June 21 and 22.

    Lydia Morales and her two kids, Illee and Isaiah, represented the Warrior Martial Arts school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Illee competed in team patterns and tag team sparring, with her team winning second place in both. All three took part in patterns and sparring on the 22nd and came out as national champions.

    Lydia won first place in both categories, Illee won first in both, and Isaiah won first in sparring and second in forms.
