The Northeast Texas Community College Firefighter Academy proudly recognizes its 21st graduating class. The academy, which commenced in January and concluded in July, has equipped a new group of firefighters with the essential skills and knowledge to protect and serve their communities.

Under the dedicated coordination of Chief Larry McRae, the rigorous six-month program has provided cadets with unique experiences in hazardous environments, wildland firefighting, fire prevention, and structure fires. The comprehensive training ensures that these graduates are well-prepared to tackle a wide range of emergency situations with confidence and professionalism.

Jimmy Smith, Director of Continuing Education and Corporate Training at Northeast Texas Community College, expressed his pride in the graduates, saying, "This program not only prepares our students for the physical and technical challenges of firefighting but also instills in them a deep sense of duty and commitment to community service. We are extremely proud of their accomplishments and look forward to seeing them make a positive impact in their respective communities."

The 2025 Firefighter Academy enrollment opens November 5, 2024 for the January class.
