  2024 34th. Annual Mayor’s Cup Trophy

The 34th annual Mayor’s Cup Golf took place on Monday, July 15, at the Mount Pleasant Country Club, benefiting the Habitat for Humanity, with Harbour Trailer Parts winning 1st place.

Eddie Harbor shook hands with Mount Pleasant Mayor Tracy Craig as he accepted the trophy during the award ceremony at the Country Club on Wednesday, July 17.

Nearly 20 local companies took part in this tournament, including Guaranty Bank, Pilgrim’s Pride, Bo Rester’s State Farm Insurance, and Cypress Basin Hospice.

According to Habitat for Humanity’s Executive Director, Judy Farmer, this year’s gross proceeds are estimated to be $11,850 and the net proceeds will go towards buying the materials for finishing construction of the house located at 906 E. 9th Street in Mount Pleasant.

Upon completion, the Habitat for Humanity will be selling this home as a zero-interest affordable loan to an already-chosen individual.

Mount Pleasant Habitat for Humanity would like to send their thank yous to the participants of each team and the sponsors. They also want to thank Jimmy Harbour, who spearheads the annual fundraiser event.
