HARRISONBURG, Va. (ROCKTOWN NOW) – The Harrisonburg man that authorities say was responsible for the mysterious death last summer was found guilty of an amended charge. According to online records, a jury yesterday afternoon found Aaron Christopher Gordon Jr. guilty of voluntary manslaughter after a six-day trial in Rockingham County Circuit Court.

John Mason Coyle, 89, a resident of Linville, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home. Mr. Coyle was born in Charleston, West Virginia on July 6, 1935 and was a son of the late Douglas Gardner Coyle and Josephine Sutler Coyle and stepfather, John Graves. He served his country for 41 years in the Army and National Guard, where he taught infantry, cartography and many other specialties. He was a member of the Harrisonburg Elks Lodge #450 and of Edom United Methodist Church.
