Big Sixth Inning Lifts Reds To Sweep Of Elkton
For five innings, it looked like one-win Elkton may just pull off the improbable. Then, the sixth inning happened, and Bridgewater showed why it’s the top seed. The Reds used a monster 17-run sixth inning to defeat the eighth-seeded Blue Sox 20-6 in seven innings and complete a two-game sweep in a best-of-three Rockingham County Baseball League quarterfinal series at Stonewall Memorial Park on Tuesday.

Annual Harrisonburg Citizen Academy now accepting applications
HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) - The annual Harrisonburg Citizen Academy is now accepting applications from Harrisonburg and Rockingham County residents. The academy will be held one night each week from Aug. 22 to mid-November. The 13-week course allows participants to visit City of Harrisonburg departments and some partner organizations to learn about the services, programs, and events available to community members. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to see firsthand the tools, equipment, and vehicles staff use in tax-paying duties.
