Wayside Christian School embarks on $2.5 million expansion
BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A longtime Christian school on the southwest side of town is seizing “A Moment of Great Opportunity.”. Wayside Christian School has broken ground on a $2.5 million building project – an expansion that will create five new classrooms, offices, a playground, soccer field, and additional parking for students and their families.
Annual summer pool party makes a splash in Ashland
ASHLAND — Ashland’s Big Splash summer pool party made a comeback Friday afternoon as families made their way to Brookside Pool for a day of fun in the sun. The annual event began in 2019. Back then, Ashland Mayor Matt Miller billed the event as an antidote to the challenge of not having enough activities in Ashland.

Governor DeWine signed new law requiring AEDs in every Ohio school
Worthington, Ohio – On a significant day for student safety, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine signed House Bill 47 into law at a ceremony held at Worthington Kilbourne High School. This new legislation mandates that every public and chartered nonpublic school in Ohio must be equipped with automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Governor DeWine emphasized the critical role of these devices in saving lives, stating, “The evidence is clear: AEDs save lives.” He highlighted that sudden cardiac arrest is the leading cause of death among student-athletes in the U.S. and noted that immediate use of an AED can make a life-saving difference.
