Columbus woman admits to buying guns in her name, giving them to convicted felon
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — A Columbus woman has pleaded guilty to making false statements while purchasing a gun, an offence punishable by up to ten years in prison. Court Documents say 41-year-old Connie Bartley went to a Columbus gun show in February 2021 with a man. That man had a previous felony conviction, making him ineligible to purchase a gun at the show.

Second suspect arrested in Broadway triple shooting
Columbus law enforcement have arrested a second subject involving in the triple Broadway shooting. The shooting occurred in a Broadway parking garage after midnight on Sunday, July 7, 2024. 21-year-old Quentin Scott Jr. was shot multiple times and pronounced dead on scene, while the two others were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Earlier in the summer, we learned that Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine was a candidate to be moved via NHL trade. However, due to his attendance in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program, those discussions were put on pause. Now, the 26-year-old Finnish sniper is reportedly cleared to return from the assistance program — via Elliotte Friedman — which means the Blue Jackets have free rein to discuss a trade with other teams.
