Newton Man Charged with Possession of Stolen Property
53-year-old Kevin William Isenhour of Kent Drive in Newton was arrested on Thursday (July 16) by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers. He was charged with felony possession of stolen property and a misdemeanor count of impaired driving revocation driving while license revoked. Isenhour was jailed under no bond in the Caldwell County Detention Center. A District Court date was scheduled for August 7.
Suspect In Officer-Involved Shooting Released From Hospital, Placed In Jail
The suspect in an officer-involved shooting in Newton has been taken into custody. On Wednesday (July 17) at approximately 1:30 p.m., 24-year-old Keon Jemez Leach of East 1st Street in Newton was released from Atrium Health Medical Center in Charlotte and arrested without incident. Leach was transported back to Newton where he was processed by Newton Police for four felony counts apiece of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm.
Garden at Catawba Correctional Promotes Growth & Supports Community
Men within the Catawba Correctional Center are responsible for The Garden of Hope. The prison has recently started a new program where 75% of the produce they grow is given to the community, and 25% is kept for meals at the prison. A portion of the 75% is given to the Corner Table in Newton to support their various feeding programs. On June 5, 2024 Corner Table Executive Director and Food Service Manager stopped by the Catawba Correctional Center to meet the guys responsible for the beautiful 1.2 acre garden that they have been receiving produce from.

Deputies: Charlotte pair tied to Lincoln Co. theft ring
LINCOLNTON, N.C. (WBTV) - Two Charlotte residents were arrested Thursday in connection with a theft ring in and around the Denver, N.C. area. Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit linked Laura Bell Redden and William Alexander Munoz-Pineda with four separate cases involving the theft of trucks, trailers, a side by side, a zero-turn lawnmower, and the attempted theft of a motorcycle.
Alexander County Woman Facing Felony Drug Trafficking Charges
Kadi Woodman Laws, age 34 of Stony Point, was arrested on July 7th by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. She was charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Laws has been released from custody. Her next court date in Statesville is scheduled for July 29th.
