She enjoyed gospel music and was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Jimmy Dean Welborn, 66, of Union Grove, passed away on July 16, 2024, at Iredell Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Iredell County on July 21, 1957, to the late Lawrence Welborn Sr. and Ruby Dishmond Welborn. He worked in lawn care and was a member of Taylor Springs Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Wilkes Volunteer Fire Department.

The Mooresville Youth Council (MYC) announced the election of Mooresville Dog Mayor Reya, who officially began her term during the MYC’s June 30 event.
