Huntersville police make arrest in deadly crash
HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (WBTV) - One person was arrested after allegedly running from a fatal crash in Huntersville Tuesday night. Greenway tunnel creates pathway under I-77 for walkers, bikers
HUNTERSVILLE– A long-awaited piece of greenway is finally open, creating a walkable connection between the east and west sides of Huntersville under Interstate 77. The tunnel is part of Mecklenburg County’s Torrence Creek Greenway/Tributary 2, also known as Torrence Trib. II, which is an east-west connection in The Vine, Huntersville’s greenway system. Work on the greenway section broke ground in the spring of 2023, and the subterranean passage beneath the interstate became walkable last month. The town held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the connector on Monday, July 15.
