Babcock Wilcox (BWXT) in Mt. Vernon made the announcement on Thursday. A statement by BWXT says, “BWXT has reached out to Kenco leadership to offer our support in any way we can assist. We also will be happy to prioritize applicants from their team, should they have displaced workers. We look forward to working with Kenco and local organizations to ensure the Mount Vernon community recovers as quickly as possible from these storms.”

No one was hurt when the tornado hit the Kenco building. Winds during the tornado were estimated at 140 miles per hour.
