State commission weighs permanent closure of Cama Beach cabins
STANWOOD — Under a proposal before the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, 33 rentable cabins would be closed permanently at Cama Beach Historical State Park. The commission is considering the move because of the park’s native history, sea level rise and the cost of fixing septic issues, members said during a meeting held Monday in Stanwood.

Gary Mark Migchelbrink was born on Sept. 1, 1954 the fifth child of George and Margaret (Poortinga) Migchelbrink. He grew up in Everett, Bellingham, and eventually Lynden, the place he ultimately made his home. Gary graduated Lynden Christian High School in 1972 and attended Everett Community College for a time before entering the work force as a talented carpenter.

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A welfare check on an unresponsive man near the Guide Meridian ended in an arrest. Bellingham Police spokesperson Megan Peters says that fire crews were called after the man was found lying in the bushes near Best Buy on Saturday, the evening of July 13.
